Calcium Chloride - About product

ABOUT PRODUCT

Calcium chloride (calcium salt of hydrochloric acid, CaCl2) is a colorless crystals with density of 2.51 g/cm³. The melting point is 772°C.

Calcium chloride has a high hygroscopic properties. The solubility of calcium chloride (g per 100 g H2O) is: 74 (20°C) and 159 (100° C). Aqueous solution of calcium chloride freezes at low temperatures (20% solution at -18,57 °C, 30% solution - at -48°C). Calcium chloride is fire-and explosion-proof.

APPLICATIONS

Calcium chloride is widely used in the petroleum and petrochemical industries (as a component of well killing fluids, drilling fluids), in the chemical industry (as a desiccant in the production of esters, gases for the manufacture of dyes), in road construction and maintenance (as anti-icing agent).

Calcium chloride is registered as a food additive E509 (used milk and brewing industry). Also, calcium chloride is used in medicine, refrigeration, construction and timber industries and etc.
